The Birth of PM On Call

PM On Call really started on the Gold Coast back in 2004. This was when I kickstarted my career in real estate. It was during the first couple of days I knew I wanted to be a Property Manager. Over 17 years later, I still have the same passion for the ever challenging roll as I did back then.

Once moving to Perth in 2014 and learning the WA ways of Property Management, I soon realised there was a need for property management support. The industry can be emotionally and mentally exhausting for some, which sadly, is why many Property Managers burn out and leave the industry.

Directors have expressed to me over the years, that finding a good temp to fill in for holiday leave was always a lucky dip, as many temps available had been fresh out of school or set in their ways and would not follow the companies procedures, making more of a headache for the returning Property Manager. Unfortunately, I found this out the hard way, when taking my leave and feeling it was easier not to take a break at all.

When outsourcing routine inspections, I found it did not always give my time back. Again this was because, the inspecting person did not have the experience, knowledge or foresight to know what lengths tenants will go to hide something or avoid their inspections. I wanted someone to conduct the inspections with my eyes and brain, looking at what's behind that poster or educating the tenants on ensuring soap scum doesn't calcify the shower screen.

It's from my time in the trenches of Property Management, that I knew I can help many Property Managers, by giving their time back and knowing the job will be done!
